Small businesses are the backbone of SD-17, but rising rents, vacant storefronts, and a state law that treats a one-person bodega identically to a 99-employee firm are weakening our neighborhood corridors. We will fight to improve commercial conditions and give our smallest businesses a fair shot.

PACKAGE THEFT

90,000 packages are reported stolen or lost in New York City every single day — and South Brooklyn’s dense apartment buildings, many without secure mailrooms or doormen, are among the most vulnerable. Our residents deserve a safe place to receive what they ordered.

EDUCATION

Equal access to a strong education is the foundation of a prosperous society. South Brooklyn students are already among the highest achievers in the city — our community deserves a school system that meets them where they live and gives every child a real shot.

SENIORS

NYC’s seniors represent about 20% of the population yet receive less than 1% of the city budget. Our seniors have worked their whole lives for this community. It is time they receive the services they deserve.

CLEANLINESS & SAFETY

Clean streets reflect a community that cares about itself. We will invest in our young people and our neighborhoods at the same time.

TRANSIT

The D and N trains are among the worst-performing lines in the NYC subway system. Our commuters deserve better, and the data proves it.
